Q. How safe is online ordering?

A. We take every precaution to protect all sensitive data sent to us over the Internet. Your personal and credit card information provided on your order is transmitted in an encrypted format ensuring your safety and privacy.

 

Q. What is your Warm Weather Delivery Policy?

A. HERSHEY'S Chocolate needs special handling during the months of April through September or when the weather is warm. To ensure that your chocolate gifts arrive without melting, all chocolate shipments during April through September require "Warm Weather" Shipping & Handling Charges. These "Warm Weather" Shipping & Handling Charges may also be needed at other times of the year when the weather is warm. (See our Shipping & Handling Chart for details.)

 

Q. Whom should I contact if I have questions or problems?

A. Either email us or call our Customer Service Department at 1-800-454-7737.

September to December: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Closed Christmas Day

January to August: 7:00 a.m. to midnight Eastern Time.

 

Q. Why do I have to pay sales tax on items and on shipping & handling?

A. Hershey is required by law to collect and pay sales tax to all states that have a sales tax on gifts. This also applies to Shipping & Handling Charges.

 

Q. May my business or charity be given a state sales tax exemption?

A. Yes, we may grant tax exemption if you have a valid state sales tax exemption certificate. Please call our Customer Service Department at 1-800-454-7737. We will review your situation. If an exemption is granted, you will be required to send us the appropriate documentation before the order is processed.

 

Q. What if I have special shipping & handling requirements or need to make my own arrangements for my large order?

A. We may be able to accommodate your special shipping & handling request.  To place your order, please either email us or call our Customer Service Department at 1-800-454-7737.

Q. Can I ship to a US Postal Service P.O. Box?

A. Yes, all gifts may be shipped to a P.O. box during cool weather.  To ensure the quality of your gifts only non-heat sensitive items, such as Mauna Loa gifts without chocolate, are able to be shipped to a P.O. box during warm weather periods.  Gifts that are heat sensitive may be shipped within the US to non-US Postal Service boxes (e.g. college P.O. boxes) year 'round.

 

Q. Do you ship orders outside the USA, Internationally?

A. We deliver to all 50 States, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, Guam and Canada.

  • Shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Canada require Express Delivery charges.
  • Shipments going to APO/ FPO addresses, the US Virgin Islands and Guam require Standard Ground shipping via the US Postal Service.  To ensure the quality of your gifts only non-heat sensitive items, such as Mauna Loa gifts without chocolate, are able to be shipped during warm weather periods.

Q. When will my credit card be charged?

A. Your credit card is charged only after your order has shipped, and only for the items which shipped. If a partial shipment has been made, the full cost of shipping will be charged on the first shipment. On subsequent shipments, you will only be billed for the items which shipped at that time.

 

Q. Can I purchase empty tins, jars, etc.?

A. We are unable to sell empty tins, jars, etc. However, our catalog is filled with a wide array of items designed to meet your gift giving needs.

 

Q. Can I get a tin or jar filled with a different type of candy than is pictured in the catalog?

A. To ensure orders are shipped as quickly and efficiently as possible, we are unable to accommodate requests for items other than those featured in our catalog and HersheyGifts.com.

 

Q. What is the expected shelf life of a product? Should I keep chocolate in the refrigerator?

A. Chocolate should be kept in a cool, dry place preferably below 72° F, but not in the refrigerator. It will last up to 6 months if stored under these conditions.
